The kids karaoke machine is something I was looking into for my daughter for a while. I decided to go for the Memorex MKS-SS1 SingStand Home Karaoke System eventually. It is outstanding fun for the kids. Very easy to assemble. You can add different instruments too, which you can always add in a later stage.

I have a Sansa mp3 player, which coupled easy and works comfortably, though it doesn’t seat in the mp3 holder well. That might hold an IPOD, but I don’t know. It sits, but it’s not well-seated and can drop out easy. You have the choice of stopping out the words from the song to sing by yourself, or you can sing along with the artist.

If you favour a duet rather then this karaoke machine is prepared with dual microphone input and provides superior sound quality with the built in speakers at the base. One draw back is that the “vocal” button to take away the original vocals makes it sound kind of garbled.

It has ‘room-filling’ sound with the two four-watt speakers are built right into the SingStand’s base, allowing for great sound whether you’re singing along or not. And the SingStand’s dual microphone inputs, so you can have double the fun and sing several duets. You do have to purchase another microphone for the duet mode to function.

The youngsters will get a lot of fun out of this great machine, although they will not always use it for the right reason. But your kids will have a fantastic time with it.
